The Gray Tree Frog/ 24k Gold Leaf, Handmade Watercolor, and Broken Glass

Gray Tree Frogs are my favorite. I consider them a good omen. When I was 12, during one of the hardest summers of my adolescence, one lived on our deck all summer. Every day I would go out to see if he was still there, and he was.

This intricate painting of a tree frog is made out of handmade watercolors that I made out of my grandmother’s antique jewelry. It is also adorned with 24k gold leaf. It is 2.5’’x3.5’’, framed and ready to sit on a shelf, or hang on the wall.
