A forget-me-not can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Every year I paint one in memory of my grandmother, an Armenian immigrant who fled a genocide. April 24th is the day Armenians think of their family lost in the genocide, and bring awareness to the occurrence. Every piece of artwork I make includes remnants of my grandmother’s belongings, including this piece. It is made out of crushed antique jewelry, glass beads, different stones, and gold leaf. It is framed and ready to sit on a shelf or hang on the wall. 2.5’’x3.5’’.
