Luna Moth in Flight with Antique Beads, Handmade Watercolor, and 23k Gold Leaf, Framed in a Gallery Frame
This is an original painting of a luna moth, made with handmade paint. It comes in a 12’’x12’’ gallery frame, and is ready to hang on your wall.
It is my goal to make art that means something. Art that lasts. Art that is culturally relevant. Art that is passed on to future generations. Art that honors our environment and our life on earth.
I use non-traditional materials to make each piece. I am fascinated with nature’s textures, iridescence, and beauty. I try to express this in my work by using materials that remind me of what I am painting. I make my inks by hand using antique beads, semi-precious stones, crushed glass, and more.
I studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA 2009, MFA 2011). I currently reside in Kalamazoo, Michigan. You can find more about my work and process on my website.
